How is the Omni Lite different from the Omni Classic?
The Omni Lite is the pared-back, most affordable carrier in the Omni range — one position, simple to put on one-handed, and suited to newborn through to about 2 years. The Omni Classic adds three more carry positions and carries through to 4 years, for parents who want more flexibility as their baby grows. Both use the same core ergonomic bucket seat and are hip-healthy certified.
Is it safe for my baby's hip development?
Yes. The Omni Lite uses the same patented ergonomic bucket seat as the rest of the Omni range, keeping baby's knees at or above hip level in the natural "M-position" recommended for healthy hip socket development. It carries the same hip-healthy recognition from the International Hip Dysplasia Institute as every other Ergobaby carrier.
What carry positions does the Omni Lite offer?
The Omni Lite is a one-position carrier — front inward facing only. It's designed as the simplest, most streamlined entry point into babywearing: no learning curve, nothing to switch between, just clip the waistband, slip on the straps, and go. If you want front outward, hip, and back carry as well, the Omni Classic and Omni Deluxe offer all four positions and carry through to 4 years.
Can I use it from birth, and do I need to buy an infant insert separately?
No infant insert needed. The Omni Lite is newborn-ready straight out of the box, from a minimum weight of 3.2kg, in the single front-inward facing position. The adjustable bucket seat and back panel support your baby through each stage without any additional purchases, all the way to approximately 15.9kg — typically around 2 years old.
